Chaper 1

There he stood. Looking off into the trees. Waiting , watching.
He had thought he had heard a noice, not just any, but it had sounded like a person had just ducked behind a tree.
And there he stood. Staring. Not really sure what he should do next. Should he move sharply. Scaring whatever, whoever into coming out and reveling themselves. Or should he run at the source of the noice and see what happened.
Maybe it wasn't even a person. Or a thing. Maybe it was all in his head and he was in fact just scaring himself. But he knew that wasn't the truth. In his heart there lived no fear.
It had to have been some branch falling from the trees. He liked that idea. So he went back to work.

He was in the middle of some trees off the road on some forgotten pack of land now owned by the state. He was safe here and he knew it. He had spent many night along side this road, his car pulled off in the trees alittle so noone could see but where he could still watch the passings of the cars. He knew this land well. He had played here as a child. Living out in the country the only child around for miles he had often spent hours just walking in these trees.
And it was on one of these trips that he had found it. A vary old but vary forgotten house. Set back over a mile from the road the house had been with out a living soul inside for quit some time. The driveway was so over-grown that it just wasn't there anymore.
He had stood outside for along time before going in that first time. 8 years old he was sweating for the first time that he could remember when he pulled the door open and stepped in. And that was when he meant his best friend. The dead guy in the chair.
At first he didn't more for hours, but when the sun set and the darkness begain to sprend he ran like hell. All the way home. He never told anybody about it, he didn't want to get into trouble. His dad was a mean man, with a quick hand that often sent him into a wall when he had been drinking. So he keeped his mouth shut about the dead guy.
But he went back. And sence he had no one to talk too, he started talking to the dead guy.

It was this dead guy that he was now thinking of as he looked into the trees. His work now done he stood there, thinking.
He had named the dead guy "Ol'd man". Even know he know his real name. He had picked through the old man's things after he had went back to the house so he knew everything about him. But how he died. And with the old man just sitting there in that chair with a empty bottle on the floor next to him, he had no real idea how he died.
But he didn't care because he was his friend. His best friend, his only friend.
And it was the ol'd man his thoughts where on when he smiled. Yes, the ol'd man would be happy. He would be pleased indeed.
He looked down at the grave he had just finished.
A women layed at the bottom of that grave.
One for the ol'd man. He picked up his tools and headed back for the car. It was time to go find another one for the ol'd man. So he could set there in his chair and watch him kill her.
He knew the old man like that.
